TECHNIQUE

The Nautilus-SS and FS can be fished the same way.  Both versions respond quite lively with varying rod twitches and various retrieve methods so do a few practice casts to familiarize yourself on its versatility.  Both lures can be walked by twitching the rod tip imparting a side to side zig zag action keeping the lure in the feeding zone where it is most effective. The occasional long jerk will make the lure kick wildly making the lure swim like a fleeing baitfish.

The Nautilus lure responds well to all retrieve speeds based on your hook selection.  Remember that lighter hooks allow for a livelier imparted action while heavier and oversize hooks are perfect for trolling on a flat line.  This lure can also be used with just a single tail hook and a very slow retrieve.  This will cause the lure to undulate randomly from side to side and up and down so do a few casts with this single tail setup to see how your retrieve speed affects action.

Troll the lure up to 6 knots using the largest hooks possible for stability.
