Where the Indian Ocean meets the Arabian Sea, the gateway to both Oman and the Red Sea.
A journey to Socotra is not just a fishing trip; it's a profound quest for self-discovery and an opportunity to truly appreciate life's blessings. Amidst the untouched beauty of the island, surrounded by pristine waters and unparalleled biodiversity, one cannot help but reflect on the simplicity and wonder of existence.
Every cast of the line becomes more than sport — it transforms into a moment of connection with nature, a reminder of the abundance that surrounds us yet so often goes unnoticed. The solitude of Socotra's shores and the authenticity of its people inspire a deep sense of gratitude and a renewed perspective on what truly matters.
This journey is about finding peace within yourself, cherishing life's gifts, and embracing the harmony that Socotra so effortlessly radiates. It's a soulful adventure that leaves a lasting imprint, far beyond the thrill of the catch.
Socotra is one of the most stunning and exceptional destinations in the world for sport fishing and for anyone who loves marine life. Located in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Yemen, it is renowned for its unique landscape and unparalleled biodiversity, home to marine and terrestrial species found nowhere else on earth.
The island's primitive, untouched character — and its isolation from rapid development — sharpens the sense of adventure and discovery, making it a treasured destination for anyone drawn to nature and the sea.
Fishing in Socotra is an extraordinary experience. Crystal-clear water, rich coral reefs, and a species list that includes tuna, kingfish, grouper, snapper, rusty jobfish, cobia, sharks — and giant trevally among the largest found anywhere on earth.
It is, without exaggeration, a paradise for anglers.
The people of Socotra are as extraordinary as the island they call home. Living in harmony with nature, they embody resilience, simplicity and a deep connection to their land and traditions. Their faces tell the stories of generations who have thrived in this remote paradise, preserving their culture and way of life with quiet dignity.
Hospitable and warm-hearted, the Socotri welcome visitors with genuine kindness, offering a glimpse into a world that exists nowhere else. Their wisdom, passed down through centuries, reflects an intimate understanding of their environment — a bond that sustains both them and the breathtaking ecosystem they protect.
In every smile, every shared story and every act of generosity, the people of Socotra remind us of the beauty of living in balance: with nature, with heritage, and with one another. They are the soul of this island, a living treasure as rare and precious as Socotra itself.
Camping only. Seven days on the island, five days fishing, tents on the beach. No hotels, no luxury, no civilisation.
That's not a compromise — it's the point.
USD 2,700 per angler — one week
USD 4,000 per angler — two weeks
(Approximately AED 9,900 and AED 14,690)
The two-week option is the better value by some distance. Getting to Socotra is the hard part — once you're there, a second week costs comparatively little and doubles your fishing.
Bring your own, or hire from us. Socotra asks a lot of gear — the GT here run large and the ground is unforgiving — and most anglers want a rod and drag they already trust.
Get set up before you go. Come into our Abu Dhabi store on Al Mina Road and we'll build a kit around this trip specifically. That advice is free whether you buy from us or not.
Numbers are strictly limited to two anglers per boat and the season is short. Message us on WhatsApp or visit our Abu Dhabi store on Al Mina Road — we'll walk you through what the trip actually involves before you commit to anything.
You sleep in tents on the beach. No hotels, no rooms, no walls between you and the water you'll fish at first light.
And you eat what you catch. We travel with our own cook, and dinner is whatever the day produced — grilled on the beach, hours out of the water. It is, by some margin, the best fish you will ever eat, and it's the part people talk about long after they've forgotten the numbers.
Camp is simple and it's meant to be. But simple is not the same as uncomfortable: you're fed properly, you sleep well, and the days are structured around fishing rather than around getting back to somewhere.
This trip is not for everyone, and it shouldn't be. If you want a resort and a hot shower at the end of the day, look at our Maldives or Kenya trips. If you want to fish ground that has barely been touched and live simply for a week, there is nowhere else like it.
