7 Nights · 5 Fishing Days · October to April · From USD 3,200 per angler
Kenya's northern coastline is one of the great big-game fisheries of the western Indian Ocean, and it's genuinely varied — you're not fishing the same ground five days running.
Billfish are the headline. Sailfish and marlin move through these waters from October, and the grounds off Malindi and the North Kenya Banks have a long-standing reputation among trolling anglers.
But it isn't only trolling. The programme mixes methods deliberately — popping and jigging around Lamu and Kiwayu for giant trevally and reef species, light jigging on the transits, and trolling in the blue for yellowfin and billfish. You'll fish surface, mid-water and deep across the week.
Three areas, three characters. Watamu, Lamu and Kiwayu each fish differently, and moving between them is much of what makes this trip worth the full week.
October to April. Kenya's settled window — the best sea conditions and the period when billfish are most reliably present. Outside it, the monsoon makes the offshore grounds hard work.
A maximum of four anglers. That number is deliberate: four is what lets everyone cast at a working school without crossing lines, and what means you're fishing rather than waiting your turn.
International flights are not included. Roughly five hours direct from Dubai or Abu Dhabi to Nairobi or Mombasa.
Your onward transfer is included. Our representative meets you on arrival and arranges either a domestic flight to Malindi or a road transfer to Watamu, around two hours.

Programme may vary with conditions.
A comfortable 3-star guesthouse in Lamu, single rooms throughout for all 7 nights — no twin sharing, which is unusual at this price and worth knowing if you're travelling alone.
All meals included.
Peponi is a Lamu institution, and dinner there at the end of a fishing day is one of the better parts of the trip.
USD 3,200 per angler (approximately AED 11,750)
Included: 5 fishing days · 7 nights accommodation, single room · all meals daily · domestic flights and transfers within Kenya · guide and crew
Not included: international flights · travel insurance · visa fees · personal expenses
Maximum four anglers. Private charters for a group of four can be arranged — ask us.
Bring your own, or hire from us. A trip covering trolling, popping and jigging asks a lot of your gear, and most anglers prefer setups they already trust — particularly for GT on the Lamu and Kiwayu ground.
Get set up before you go. Come into our Abu Dhabi store on Al Mina Road and we'll build a kit around this trip specifically. That advice is free whether you buy from us or not.
Places are limited to four anglers and the October–April window fills early. Message us on WhatsApp or visit our Abu Dhabi store on Al Mina Road.
